Boonville, MO, named for Daniel Morgan Boone & Nathan Boone

Situated in Cooper County, Missouri, this small, rustic town was named after Daniel Boone’s sons, Daniel Morgan Boone and Nathan Boone, whose salt business was located nearby.

Boone Gravesite
Marthasville, MO

The original burial site of Daniel and Rebecca (Bryan) Boone, as well as other members of the Boone and Bryan families. The couple’s larger bones were disinterred and then reinterred at the Kentucky gravesite in 1845. A marker can be found at the site, which is (and has been) maintained by ever-appreciated volunteers from the Boone Society for the past number of years.
