Legend suggests that Daniel Boone and his family used the cave located in this park for shelter upon moving to North Carolina when he was a teen. Be ready to navigate plenty of stairs on your journey to the cave, which is situated just off of the Yadkin River.
Squire & Sarah Boone Gravesites in Joppa Cemetery

The gravesites of Daniel Boone’s parents, Squire and Sarah (Morgan) Boone, who are the shared ancestors of many of the members of the Society. Be sure to also visit the Israel Boone (one of their children) marker at the site which was co-sponsored by the Boone Society.
