Daniel Boone Homestead
Birdsboro, PA

The birthplace of the legend himself, Daniel Boone, and property belonging to his parents, Squire Boone and Sarah (Morgan) Boone. The Boones lived on this land until Daniel was in his teens. The visitors center presents family historical information, while the property itself features a variety of historical offerings.

Sign on a shelf stating "SOMETIME BEFORE 1713 Squire Boone with his brother George and his sister Sarah came to Pennsylvania as advance agents for their father. George Senior followed from Cullompton with the rest of the family on August 17, 1717. From Philadelphia, the Boone family went to Abington, then moved on to North Wales. Here at Gwynedd Meeting Squire Boone and Sarah Morgan, both "Quakers" were married on July 23, 1720. Squire Boone worked at his father's trade of weaving, but soon bought land in New Britain Township. After two years, the couple moved on to this homestead where Daniel Boone was born on November 2,1734." — Sign on Boone family’s immigration

Exeter Friends Meeting and George Boone's Gravesite
Douglassville, PA

Still active, the Boone family were members of this Meeting during their time in Pennsylvania. Interred in the cemetery on the grounds are various Boone (and Lincoln) family members, including Daniel’s paternal grandparents, George Boone III and Mary (Maugridge) Boone. In the Quaker tradition, the graves are unmarked.

Situated on private property, this was the land of Daniel’s paternal grandparents, George Boone III and Mary (Maugridge) Boone. The chimney and fireplace of their log home still remains, as does the stone house that they built in 1733. Both–and a stone marker– are visible from the (very narrow) roadside.

Morgan Loghouse
Lansdale, PA

On the property of Daniel Boone’s maternal grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth Morgan, this loghouse features a variety of stunning artifacts, including those from the Morgan family itself. It’s also a great location to learn about the weaving techniques of the time…and more. (Note: The location has narrow staircases.)

Peter Wentz Farmstead
Lansdale, PA

George Washington slept (and made his headquarters) here! While not directly related to the Boone family, this site is less than 10 minutes down the road from the Morgan Loghouse. An expansive park, this area offers a variety of historical buildings, live demonstrations, and is a great place for a walk or a picnic.
