Our Story
In June 1997, the first issue of the Compass was created on a Mac computer. Copies were made at a local print shop and then mailed to members. Today, the Compass is available in both print and digital formats, featuring stories that provide historical insights into the life of Daniel Boone, his lineage, and the American frontier.
The Boone Society invites members to submit scholarly articles, family histories, and narratives on frontier heritage sites and events to the Compass. Suggestions for Virtual Heritage programs are also welcome.
